Parallels Desktop 7 unveiled
Parallels today announced the availability of Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac – the first version of its virtualisation software to take full advantage of OS X Lion.
PD 7 will be available to purchase from September 7 and available today as an upgrade to current Parallels Desktop users. As more people are moving from PC to Mac, software like Parallels has become critical for running important Windows Applications on the Mac.
PD 7 has the ability to use all the features within Lion throughout the Windows platform as well. Other new features include an increase in speed and performance.
Parallels has also released the new Parallels Mobile App, where you can now use your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch to watch and listen to Flash videos in Windows; and access and run your OS X, Windows and other operating systems, their applications and files anytime from anywhere
Macworld Australia attended the launch of PD 7 in Sydney yesterday and got the opportunity to see PD 7 in action. Our first impressions are that PD 7 seems extremely snappy and the Full Screen view and Mission Control features to tie in with Lion are welcomed. We managed to get our hands on a copy of Parallels Desktop 7 and will have our full review soon.
